Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. In the film and television industry, she is known for her many nominations and awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and fostered by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, made the move out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their separated father. Bassett decided to be an actress after she saw the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. When she graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980 with an undergraduate degree with a major in African American Studies, she continued to pursue an MA (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett is currently working as one of the main characters as Ramonda in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
